Terms
The terms for using StoryCapture
These terms cover the StoryCapture desktop app, the MCP server inside it and the web app at storycaptures.com. By signing in or using the app, you agree to them.

Who you are agreeing with
StoryCapture is run by operator legal name and address. In these terms, "we" means that operator and "you" means the person using StoryCapture. If you use it for a company or another organization, you accept these terms for that organization and confirm you are allowed to.
The private beta
StoryCapture is in private beta. Features may change, move or stop working while we build it, and the service may be unavailable at times. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose; projects, scripts and exports already live on your computer.
What the beta costs, and how much notice we give before any price applies.
Your account
- You sign in with Google or GitHub. Keep that account secure.
- You are responsible for what happens in your workspace, including what the people you invite do there.
- Tell us at hello@storycapture.dev if you think someone else is using your account.
Your content
Your stories, recordings, exports and uploaded videos stay yours. When you upload a video, you let us store it, process it (make posters, streams, subtitles and chapters) and show it to the people who have its link or an embed, for as long as it is uploaded. That permission ends when you delete the video.
You are responsible for what your videos show. Before you record or share a page, make sure you are allowed to: that the site's owner permits it, and that personal data on the page (names, emails, customer records) is hidden or that you have the right to show it. The redact line exists for this.
What you must not do
- Record sites or accounts you are not allowed to access or record.
- Use StoryCapture to get past bot checks, CAPTCHAs or other access controls. The app waits out automatic checks and stops at interactive ones on purpose.
- Upload or share videos that break the law, infringe someone else's rights, contain malware, or harass, deceive or spam people.
- Overload, probe or attack the web app, or get around its limits, sign-in or sharing settings.
AI clients and other services
If you connect an AI client to the MCP server, or add your own ElevenLabs, Anthropic or OpenAI key, your use of those services is covered by their terms and billed to your account with them. What the app sends to them is described in the privacy policy.
Feedback
If you send us ideas or bug reports, we may use them to improve StoryCapture without owing you anything for them.
Ending your use
You can stop using StoryCapture at any time, delete your videos in the web app, and ask us to delete your account at hello@storycapture.dev. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law or a security risk prevents it.
No warranty
StoryCapture is a beta, provided as it is and as available. We do not promise it will be error-free, that a recording will match the page exactly, or that the service will always be reachable.
Limits on liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data, and our total liability is limited to the cap: for example, what you paid us in the last 12 months or a fixed amount. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the governing law and the courts for disputes.
Changes to these terms
We will update the date at the top when these terms change, and email account holders before a change that affects them takes effect.
