Changelog

What changed in StoryCapture, with a video of each release recorded by StoryCapture itself.

  1. Re-record a live demo behind the same link

A video can now be re-recorded on a schedule and published as a new version behind the link you already shared.

Release video, recorded with StoryCapture to record
    • Re-uploads add a version behind the same share link, and analytics read per version
    • Run mode records and exports a project with nobody at the app, using a workspace API token
    • Story secrets keep passwords and tokens out of the script
    • End cards carry your logo, address and a clickable call to action
    • Eight music beds and a library of realistic sound effects
  2. Camera shots and safer recordings

Scenes and steps can ask for a camera shot, and the recorder handles drags and bot checks the way a person would.

    • Camera shots in the script: dolly, crane, truck and orbit on a scene or step
    • Drag is recorded as real input and drawn with a closed hand
    • A bot check is waited out or handed to you, never completed by the app
    • An Exports screen with export and upload in one step
  3. 3D camera and the layer peel

Openings that look made, not captured.

    • A 3D camera with angles, a lens, focus pulls and slow drifts
    • A layer-peel intro that lifts the page apart before the first step
    • Mark, strike and badge pin notes to a step's words and controls
    • Redesigned Record and Edit screens
  4. Your AI can make the video

An MCP server lets Claude, Cursor and VS Code write, check, record and export a story.

    • MCP server for AI clients, with every recording confirmed in the app
    • Re-record one scene as a take and splice it into the timeline
    • Watch pages stream in HLS with subtitles, a transcript and a retention chart
    • Vertical and square exports whose picture follows the action
